The Christmas Tree

November Fun

All Miss E wants for Christmas is her two front teeth.  Actually, she has a giant list of completely unattainable toys that cost like $100 each.  Haha

In November Baby C learned how to climb up on the table.  Now we keep the chairs far from the table.  However, Baby C is now trying to shove chairs over to the table to climb up.  She also learned how to climb up to the piano in a vain attempt to reach the tv.

Baby C carefully strewing leftover Halloween candy around the master bedroom.

Baby C cut 4 teeth in November!

We spent Thanksgiving with three other families whose extended families were far away.  Lots of children and lots of babies!  We all had fun.

Long Overdue Update

I just realized it's been several months since I updated this blog.  Oops!  Time for a photo dump!  Here's the September highlight:

Mr N caught a fish bigger than Baby C!  She liked splashing it with water from the hose.

October Highlights:

Mr N caught another fish at the beginning of October.  Yay salmon!

The kids goofing around posing for pictures in some new pajamas.

Miss E as Tinkerbell.

M as a ninja.

Baby C as a duckling.

The night before Halloween Mr N & I went to a haunted house with our friends.  We dressed up because that is FUN.  That zombie's pretty creepy, huh.  I was a black widow and Mr N is a lumberjack.  Just in case you are especially obtuse and cannot tell.  :-)

Enchanted Forest

A couple weeks ago we made our annual visit to the Enchanted Forest!  Fun times were had by all!

The big kids were pretty leery of the giant animal of indeterminate species, but Baby C was game!

E rode this ride several times by herself.  She loves it!

Taking a little rest while we determine our next action.

Aunt T's Visit

Mr N's sister, or "Aunt T" as the children like to call her, came to visit over Memorial Day weekend.  It was great to see her!  The weather took a turn for the worse, but Aunt T did not mind a bit as it is already quite hot in Texas where she lives.

She & Mr N went fishing on Friday.  No salmon, but they did have fun reeling in some sturgeon.  Aunt T caught a 41" fish!!  Wowzers.

Saturday Mr N, Aunt T & the kids went to Silver Falls (Mrs N had a break).  The falls were lovely and Aunt T enjoyed the greenery.  Aunt T manned the camera, thus there is no photographic evidence that she visited Silver Falls!

"Why yes, I am a G."

"I'm pooped!"

Baby C mugs for the camera.

Monday saw us dragging Aunt T to Lowe's so we could get ceiling fans for all the bedrooms.  Fun!  Don't worry, we also squeezed in trips to Michaels & Craft Warehouse so Aunt T could get some cool beads for her jewelry making!  Come visit us again soon Aunt T!!

Bathtime!

Recent Happenings

 Cuddles with Daddy

Our little sweetie smiled beautifully on Valentine's Day in a quick photo snapped by Mr N.

Can you believe she will be seven months old in a few days???  I sure can't.  Baby C is developing her torso strength and can sit up unassisted for up to half a minute if she doesn't try to grab something.  Then she topples over.  She wasn't much of one for baby food.  The only thing I could get her to really eat was green beans.  Not that I tried much.  She pretty much skipped right to real food.  She enjoys cheese and bananas and especially loves bread.  Mr N gave her some strawberry smoothie the other day - wowee did she go for that!

M caught his first frog and was SO happy!

He is wearing his favorite shirt, which says "1 lucky dude."  He wears this regardless of the season.  It just happens to work at this time of year.

E & M have recently been learning a great deal about science.  E really likes dinosaurs and natural disasters so they both love to watch whatever shows they can find about those things on Netflix.  M also loves planets and space.  He loves to have me search Google Images for astronauts, the moon, spaceships, and various planets.  I took the kids to the non-fiction section of the kids' section of the library for the first time ever, and they were seriously acting like it was Christmas and they got everything they had ever dreamt of.  I showed them some Eyewitness books and they went crazy! We came home with a giant pile.  It was so fun.  They especially loved Dinosaur, Human Body, Ocean, Moon, Volcano & Earthquake, Weather, and Water.

The kids like to help me cook.  E got a craft apron from Aunt Jeanie for Christmas.  M wears one of my aprons.

"Bean trays" were a big hit here this week and kept the kids entertained for hours.  They created elaborate stories to accompany their play.  I saw this on the web somewhere.  Thanks, Internet!

Christmas 2011

We decorated a gingerbread house on Christmas Eve.

We went on a marathon walk (nearly 2 miles) and watched that old stop-motion animation movie of how Kris Kringle became Santa Claus and had pizza for dinner.  It is a tradition from Mr N's family to watch a movie and eat pizza on Christmas Eve night.

The children got to open one present Christmas Eve - their new pajamas.  We were worried they would take forever to fall asleep, but they both conked out right away.  Apparently the long walk coupled with weeks of anticipation was too much for our little ones.

Here is the living room after Santa visited!

 Our Christmas tree.

The children posing with their stockings.

The baby ponders the joys of Christmas.

We didn't take many pictures of Christmas morning, it's mostly video.  I'll upload that...sometime.  We had a lovely Christmas and hope you did too!
